First time that I rooted my tab:
If I want to restore to a new tablet or the same one at a later stage
1) Do I need to backup system and suer apps
2) If I set up a schedule will it overwrite a previous backup?
3) does it backup whatsapp chats, media and phone camera pics as well?

You'd want option one. It's a full backup of system and user apps. You can only restore to the same tablet/device. If you want to be able to restore to a different device, you'd probably just want to backup the user apps, not system.

Titanium has various options, so you can choose if you want an incremental backup or one that overwrites.

If you backup user apps, it will save all your whatsapp stuff, but not camera. For that, you need to perform a full backup (system and user apps).

When I saw the title of the thread I had flashbacks to my S2 Flashing a different ROM every other day (or sometimes, several per day...).

Yeah, good memories. I used to flash various ROMS and stuff. Fun times. I remember doing that with my S2 and S4.
