Maybe TivoZA can comment on accessories available for the TiVo.
I see on the tivo.com site that there is wireless options available. Will this work with the series 1 models that we have to use? I see it's USB devices. Which devices might be supported?

you require a usb port which the series 1 does not have, to use these.

I just use a smc wireless bridge to connect my tivo's wired network connection to the rest of my network.

Ahh, ok. That'll work too I suppose. Now I have even more motivation to get a TiVo.

As telkomsuig stated above, the TiVo series 1 doesn't have a USB port. There are however a variety of connectivity options as detailed in the "Connectivity" guide. The options for connecting your TiVo include using a TiVo network card (which can be connected to an access point), connecting via serial cable or connecting via the TiVo's built in modem.

For a few of the advanced TiVo features you will require a TiVo network card. Some of the really great features include streaming recorded shows to PC, XBox or another TiVo, downloading and uploading videos (DivX, XviD, etc) as well as backing them up to DVD or transferring them to portable devices (e.g. iPod, PSP, Zune, etc), a full featured web based interface allowing for such things as remote scheduling of recordings via the Internet (or cellphone) plus much much more.
