OK the doffness that lies within me.
OK so I asked previously how u put a image here without someone having to click on the link to ure photo album on this site.

Now can SOMEONE pls explain how to do this,Im sure it will save lots of time so people can view pics straight away and not click on links.

Ive tried before and BWANA told me to actually copy the image, not the page. Now Im a bit confussed in this process can a moderator pls explain exacly how this works step by step.

Thx
Jonathan

Skeet, why do you post this in the photography section? The photography section is for people who play (or work) with their cameras. Not for gripes about the forum software configuration. The appropriate forum for that is the First posts, intros, forum questions section.

Anyway, you don't want to use flickr because it costs you in bandwidth. Now guess why there is a limit on the image sizes here....

Jeez I was asking for help not a lecture, and seeing that Im trying to contribute to this forum I thought that u willing friends of mine would help me out,not diss me.

BUT ANYWAYS atleast someone helped me,be prepared for an onslought and I hope u enjoy.::--))

Sk33t, my apologies, finger trouble on my side, I meant to respond to your other thread.

The easiest thing to do is find a post that has an image embedded, and click on "Reply With Quote" - this will show you how to code it. Try to display the code here is a nightmare, since the forum software will interpret and execute it instead of displaying it.

OK will try figure it out I wana try show as much as I can to get u guys opinion, always nice to have constructive critisisum(spelling).Just wanted to try make things easier.

Upload your pics here, http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/

When you reply to a post click on "Go Advanced" and click on the icon that looks like a picture frame located between the envelope and film, if you hover your mouse over it it will say "Insert Image". Insert the url to the pic you just uploaded or link to an external website if you want.

This is the page: http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php/photo/14425/title/easy-rider/cat/501

If you right click on the photo itself it will let you copy the image location which in this case is
HTML:
http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/data/501/medium/AO3J3635_1_.jpg

Thanks to a vbulletin bug you'll want to remove the /medium from that link to give you the larger image.

Then you take that and wrap it in image tags by clicking on this icon
insertimage.png
and entering the url for the image.

You'll end up with a snippet of code that looks like:
HTML:
[IMG]http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/data/501/AO3J3635_1_.jpg[/IMG]

Things to remember - do the scaling down to 800px yourself and also reduce the quality until the picture is less than the 150kb. The forum software will do it for you, just not as well.

Dude, the easiest is photobucket - it gives you the forum code and you can simply paste it.

MyBB photi share is like BoB - it only accepts pictures suitable for dial-up users and that means lots of compression artifacts. Tinypic is cool, I have to agree, but it is more for a hit'n'run type of share. On photobucket you have a lot of space and you can manage your albums. Plus it is on the internet so you constantly hear this whine and moaning from people with telkom nationet broadband saying they can see the pictures and that the site is international and what not. I love that :p

Yeah, photobucket sucks my bawlls nicely - Lickity split :D

I dont see much compression
