I use a Family TopUp contract with a Nokia 3200. In the past few months I have either not been recieving all my sms's, and a few have not been recieved by friends that I have sent. At first I thought it was my handset, then my sim card - but I've been chatting around and apparently quite alot of users are having problems with sms's either being [I presume] lost during sending and/or receiving, and messages arrive hours, in one case even days after they have been sent. Are there any other users having this problem too???

I must say that I have had nothing but reliability on my prepaid account. My sister is on Family TopUp, with the same phone, and she also has had no problems.

Ive had a situation where i send my wife a sms at 7 pm to pick me up from work and the sms only comes through at some unearthly hour in the morning.
does not happen often, usualy only a few seconds delay.

I have had a few instances of his, but mostly international SMS's, which I guess would be blamed on the "international" segment.

Ok, here's a question to all those experiencing problems with sms delivery, do you have Network Selection on your cellery phones set to Automotastic or Trevor Emanuelle?

I know that I have had problems in the past in both SA and the UK when my cellery phones (several Nokias) have been set to automatic. I would suggest that you try setting your phone to Manual & Vodacom network, then report whether it has made any difference.

I've also had the sms problem and I'm also on automatic selection. I'll try change it and see what happens. Thanks 4 the tip ic.

In general I think my phone is on its last legs. I'm thinking about getting a 6680 when it comes out
