Did anyone else find today's poll ("How much bandwidth do you use per month?")
a bit lacking? I use as much bandwidth as i can afford. Is the poll asking how much we want to use or how much we are forced to use? Maybe adding a "As much as I can afford" option would be appropriate?
 
I fully agree with biltonguy.
I use as little bandwidth as possible due to the cost.

Mark my words, the poll in its current form will come back and haunt MyAdsl in the future.

I can see the Telkom headline now - "90% myadsl users don't need more than 3gb/month"

Well acording to the current results only 14% use less than 3GB :cool:

I would guess it means how much we are forced to use. :cool:

"How much bandwidth do you use per month?" means just that, how much DO you use, not how much you would want to use or how much you can afford, just how much DO you use.

"How much bandwidth do you use per month?" means just that, how much DO you use, not how much you would want to use or how much you can afford, just how much DO you use.

Agree with biltonguy...Yeah but the results will be open to misinterpretation.
 
I can't believe what I saw on that poll ... are people just plain dumb?

Whomever voted (for at least) under 20gigs should be shot twice.

Why? The question is "How much bandwidth do you use per month?", and some people might only use 3gb others only 5gb, not necessarily because they want to, but becuase thats the only amount they can afford, or actually need.

Since when is it a crime to use less than 20gb?

And why does using less than 20gb mean you're stupid?
 
Also note that it doesn't specifically apply to ADSL. It includes people on Sentech, iBurst and 3G. Anyone who voted less than 3GB could very well be on dial-up or 3G or anything. Therefore the beast can't misquote anything because no specific type of access is mentioned.
 
I think the intentions of todays survey is good, but the results are open for misquotation.
I'd love to use more than I answered, but it is an affordability issue. Maybe the survey should ask what your anticipated needs are.:rolleyes:
 
How much bandwidth would I like to use each month? As much as I want!

You are right but, don't ever forget, that we are dealing with the likes of Telkom, they will take advantage of something like this and run. In other words, that poll in my eyes, will strengthen their philosophy of 3 gigs being acceptable to the majority.

In polls like these we have to use them to our advantage.

It has been discussed before and we here came to the conclusion that nothing under 30gig would be acceptable.

It was not my intention to insult anyone by saying what I said but to use the poll to our advantage would be to vote as high as we can. (I think)

We have to make a point in the strongest way possible.
 
i want uncapped. but then again, we all want uncapped, the only thing is, we cant have it, because telbitch says we cant. i love this democracy!

I understand what you're saying, but IMO it'll be kinda difficult for telkom to say 3gb is acceptable because only 15% of MyADSL users said that they use less than 3gb. What about the other 85%?

Anyway, what is the perpose of the poll? To find out how much people actually use, and by lying the poll is just plain useless.

And why do we have to stoop down to the level of telkom by lying to achieve our goals when we can do that by simply stating the facts and utilising the truth?
