Tolls and e tag

Forget about the E-tags and etolls, You dont need any of that, no one in SA pays for that. Only pay at normal tolls where there is a cashier sitting in the booth.

Hi .thanks for your reply..I think you mean the gantry, bcoz at toll plazas, person is sitting and even if you go through etag lane, so payment option in etag is only prepaid or attaching a bank card, and if there is no balance, boom will not open...

Can U tell me few things pointwise :
1. Are there unmaned toll plazas also or only gantries..?
2. I normally pass through both toll plazas and gantries..but I use etag.., so I need to keep balance in my etoll account, for boom to open..now if I pass through gantry , so this balance will automatically be used to pay for gantry and I can't enjoy the option to post pay it (within 7 days after you receive the statement) and then actually, not paying it....so only option is to not register for etoll/etag at all and then if i come across toll plaza, then go through the cash lane and if I come across the gantry, then just pass by and not pay anything afterwards upon recieving the statement..I guess, that's why i see most cars( even the big ones belonging to supposedly rich people just using the cash lanes and not etag..I understand now )....is this correct..?
3. If I pay by cash , do they always have change to return back .?...
4. Can I pay using my debit/credit card to the cashier..?
5. Why is this whole toll system called a scam sometimes, is toll being collected on very old roads on which it should have been stopped etc..?
6. Why do people say here that they don't pay etoll..shouldn't they say gantry bcoz etoll is a general term used for both gantry and toll plazas..isn't it .?
