As Director for the Wireless Smartphone Strategies service at Stragey Analytics, Thomas K. Kang heads the research for smartphones within the devices category. Tom covers various themes around smartphones including platform developments, opportunity assessments, vendor analysis and forecasting. He had emphasized the changing nature of the mobile device industry as a platform for various ecosystems serving content and services at the dawn of the smartphone era.
Prior to joining Strategy Analytics, Tom worked for LG Electronics within the Mobile Communications Company. He has been in various roles including strategic planning, managerial accounting, overseas operation management and marketing. His broad experience within the industry has enabled him to provide practical advice for the short term goals of clients as well as perceptive insights for long term vision.
Tom holds a BA degree in Economics from Korea University, Seoul, Korea. He was captain of the rowing team in university, leading the team to 4 straight winning seasons and still enjoys rowing with his alumni team in summer.
