Tested the following configuration with iBurst (usual disclaimers apply about bricking your router):
Obtained a Netgear WNR3500L from Duxbury: http://www.duxbury.co.za/Netgear/da...nd_service_providers/wnr3500v2_ds_25sep09.pdf
Downloaded the special initial flash: http://www.myopenrouter.com/downloa...T-Firmware-Special-File-for-Initial-Flashing/
Downloaded the tomatousb firmware from http://sourceforge.net/projects/tom...6USB-1.28.9054MIPSR2-beta-vpn3.6.rar/download
Logged into: 192.168.1.1 with admin password and performed a router upgrade using dd-wrt.v24-13309_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-WNR3500L.chk
After the reload logged back into 192.168.1.1 using admin password
Renamed tomato-K26USB-1.28.9054MIPSR2-beta-vpn3.6.trx to .bin file and did a firmware upgrade (NB: Use reset to factory defaults or you will be forced to do a 30-30-30)
After the reload logged back into 192.168.1.1 using admin admin
Basics: Change WAN to PPPOE with iBurst credentials. Set MTU as 1392
Plus: Enable QoS and set sip.iburst.co.za as highest priority for crystal clear VoIP
There are a million things you can do on this router incl:
- Storage (add an 8GB USB flash)
- web server
- ftp
- media server
- print server
