Tomb Raider review

The Tomb Raider game is entirely changed from its predecessors like the Legend.I like the new game play.

been playing for the past week - awsome stuff :-) look and listen have it for R399

I think it is really good. The game is very linear (like its predecessors), but the storyline is very entertaining. The graphics is definitely top-notch and the gameplay is quite fun. I really enjoy playing with the bow...

I guess what I like most about the game is that is moves away from the traditional puzzle-solving theme. You don't feel alone in the world as with some previous versions, since you run into interactive characters quite often. Best Tomb Raider yet IMO. :)

got the game 2 days ago, never got to play last night but played for about an hour the night i got it. The opening to the game is really epic! Really enjoying the story line so far and cannot wait for this long weekend to give it a nice sit down. So far to me it feels alot like prince of persia type games (not sure if older tomb raider games felt like that as I only ever played tombraider 2 back in the day and that never felt like prince of persia).

Have you ever played any of the Uncharted games?

no sorry, I don't play console games, Im a PC fanboi and could never play something that I believe is destroying the gaming community.

Consoles or the Uncharted series? You know that 'PC gaming' is going to be obsolete within the decade right?

Huh? How does this make sense in any way?

Consoles attract the more casual gamer, meaning more people playing games.
Games such as the Uncharted series are amongst the best games you could hope to play. This raises the quality of other such games.

I would think that consoles and/or games such as the Uncharted series benefit the "gaming community"...

Consoles, The uncharted series looks good to what I have seen in screenshots and reviews. Yea unfortunately consoles are killing PC gaming and it will be a very sad day when PC gaming is "obsolete". Cant stand playing games with a silly controller. Have tried but it just sucks, sports games are ok with a controller but that is where it ends for me.

There is exactly the problem.... they attract the casual gamers (generally meaning dumb asses or players that couldn't care to spend more than a few minutes or possibly a couple hours a week gaming). That is why games these days are dumbed down alot (compare say skyrim to morrowind and you can see how much skyrim points you to every single objective, In morrowind you actually had to listen and read and figure things out) or games are just so short to accomodate the casual gamer.

Sure the unchartered games might be fantastic but how the hell do you use a gun with a ps3 controller????? i hate auto aim and sure cant fire properly without it. There is just no feel to shooting type games or first person/3rd person type games with out the mouse that lets you pinpoint actions perfectly almost every time. I just do not get that same feeling using just a thumb to look around/aim compared to a whole hand motion that is much more accurate.

as for raising the quality of games, well that is debatable really but this isnt the thread for that:)

Hardcore gamer I see... But to the point: the Metal Gear Solid series (Playstation), GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Gran Turismo 2, Final Fantasy VI and VII, Ninja Gaiden Black, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time- these are all console developed games, and are some of the best games that have ever been made (these are off the top of my head mind).

This is personal preference, so I understand.

Agreed, but refer to my first point in this post.
