So I've ordered my first console in AGES!!! The last console I owned was a SEGA MegaDrive. HELLO!!!

I ordered from BT Games in Pretoria:-

XBox 360 Premium + free game (Dead Rising) - special was running for R3549.
Extra Wireless Controller
Plug and Charge Kit
PGR3
Burnout Revenge

They were sold out of GOW, both editions. Might try to get it somewhere else.

Going to pick it up tomorrow afternoon. Pretty excited.

Nice. And what about the Wii now ?

Nice man you wont be disapointed, but you must get gears: its absolutely awsome. I reacently also picked up rainbow six vegas wich is also very good. GRAW is also very nice.

PitBull: The Wii is still coming.

Vio: I'll try look for GOW somewhere out there.

ubberfunk: Thanks, I'm already on there - hehe

I also purchased the Xbox bought 3 games for it, played them a few times with my bro and went back to PC, BF 2142 and WoW were calling my name.

i play my pc.. then my xbox.. then my pc.. then my xbox... guess i can have them both eh!

@nuyork - hope you got a foff bigscreen HDTV to go with

Yup, already got a 50" plasma. Although it only supports up to 1080i and not 1080p. But it's fine....720p is more than good enough for XBox.

:L:

if your tv downscales a 1080p picture to 720p.. try doing that instead of just using 720p... on my tv the image looks softer when that happens!

yup me too ... took the plunge not one bit dissapointed ... the pro console, plus GOW, PGR and NFS:MW ... R3200 ... figured thats not too bad ... (private sale)

42" plasma and 5.1 home theatre rocks!

at least on the xbox it runs first time right ... did not have to patch GOW :)

Look im interested in going Xbox but I need to know a few things first, Im used to playing LAN games with friends and Co-op games as well, how does this work with the Xbox? can you link em up and play like 10 player Co-op bashing zombies like you can on PC?

The Xbox can lan just as [-]well[/-] better than a computer.

GOW has a brilliant co-op option which you can play either over a lan or over xbox live which is fantastic...

What Gavin said ^^^^

I saw a pic somewhere with a bunch of people at a LAN and their large LCD TVs and plasmas and their XBoxes underneath them.

I'd think I'd rather just take a small LCD 19" if I do ever go to a LAN with it.

Unfortunately not in GoW, it's only 4 a side, but other games support more players. i think Halo 3 is going to be 16 player.

COD3 seems to support up to 24 players.:)

Just arrived back home with the 360 under one arm and a packet full of goodies under the other. hehe

I got an extra battery as well.

And I managed to get a copy of GOW. So cool!!! I can't wait. I was watching a stack of video reviews on YouTube last night. It got me really hyped up.

Also got another two games: DOA4 and LEGO Star Wars II. Just to add some variety to the mix.

Well busy unpacking and reading the manual.

:L:

P.S. - damn this power brick is huge!!!

Reading the manual??

I would be plugging in stuff just to get into it ASAP, and refer to the manual only if something doesn't work :D
