Top 10 most pirated PC games

Far Cry 4 at the top of them all, I am not surprised :p

I actually looked through a brochure the other day and saw that games cost around the R1K mark if you go the PS4/XBONE route.

Some Far Cry 4 complaints are joining those of Ubisoft’s other recent titles. Unlike those surrounding Assassin’s Creed: Unity and its “no face” glitches, the Himalayan adventures of Ajay Ghale have a specific difference which shows up when the game is played without the Day One patch.

A feature missing from the PC version at the retail level is the Field of View slider, which is included in the update which becomes available the instant you connect the game to the internet. Illegal copies will not have that option, and Ubisoft has stated that anyone who complains about it has a pirated copy.

Ubisoft apparently did this to see how many people weren’t paying for their game, and according to Twitter gripes, quite a few didn’t.

The lack of Field of View slider options at the root of the Far Cry 4 complaints make the shooter aspect of the game unplayable due to weird aspect ratios which can lead to nausea, according to PC Games N. This could lead to some enterprising pirates simply attempting to beat the game using stealth and melee tactics. Gamers who want to play the PC game the way it’s intended will have to pay for a legitimate copy.

It is unknown what Ubisoft will do about gamers who unknowingly revealed themselves as pirated copy owners, but we can probably expect them to pull similar tricks with other new releases.

Those who pirated the game found themselves endlessly hunted by a giant pink scorpion with a high-speed charge attack and twin chain guns. Legal owners of the game didn’t encounter that DRM-inspired spike in difficulty.

Ubisoft snuck it into a Day 1 (1.2.0) patch

Not that it matters

For a temp fix go to My Documents> My Games> FarCry 4. Then edit the xml profile, find the line that says FOV Scaling = 1, and change it to 1.25 (I found this the best as the 1.5 scaling sets the FOV to around 105° or so)

Arkham Asylum and Serious Sam 3 had far better anti-piracy tactics
