Well that will definitely make him one of the top contenders for the next Minister of Police, or whatever ministerial post could allow him to really get into some mega corruption.

yip.

This is just a stepping stone for ANC comrades...

If you have a criminal record on your CV you're definitively suited for government so he'll be moving up in the world.

ANCYL reinstates Mabe
2013-01-28 20:44

Johannesburg - The ANC Youth League has reinstated its Treasurer-General Pule Mabe.

"The national executive committee acknowledged that no proper process was followed in the removal of comrade Pule and resolved, therefore, to reinstate him to his position unconditionally," the ANCYL said in a statement on Monday.

"The NEC also congratulated comrade Mabe on his election to the national executive committee of the ANC."

Mabe was removed from his position in May last year following a vote of no confidence.

The decision to reinstate Mabe was taken at an NEC meeting held over the weekend at St George’s Hotel in Irene, south of Pretoria.

The ANCYL acknowledged it had failed to have sanctions against axed leader Julius Malema and others lifted at the ANC conference in Mangaung last year.

"The 53rd National Conference, the highest decision-making body of the ANC, was to be the final arbiter in this matter," the league said.

"We accept and respect the outcome of the national conference, thus bringing the matter to finality."

Malema was expelled from the ANC last year.

Sindiso Magaqa and Floyd Shivambu were suspended.

Deputy President Ronald Lamola has led the ANCYL since then.

Malema sent the ANC conference a letter asking for his job back, but at the time party Secretary-General Gwede Mantashe said it had been received too late, and that the programme had already been adopted.

The ANC and ANCYL met last week to discuss issues within the league, after a resolution was taken at the Mangaung conference.

"Work has already commenced in earnest to assess the state of the organisation and the NEC continues to grapple with the critical question of the capacity and potential of the youth league leadership to rebuild the organisation and unite all youth behind the vision of the ANC," the ANCYL said.
