Top Gear lying about EVs again.

With that logic, you wouldn't be working on a PC or using a cell phone. Five years is sweet blow all in development time

With cellphone and PC and technology as a whole you see improvements every 6 months.
With that said, with all the technological marvels that the cellular market have brought in, not much has been done to the actual battery longevity...

There are certainly some big improvements in battery tech in the pipeline (just as cell batteries went from NiCad to NiMh to L-Ion). The point is, ****ty cellphones had to come to market and be used by earlier adoptors in order for cellphones to become widespread and then rapidly improve. The same thing is happening with EVs, which is why it's a little myopic to simply write them off.

I feel the point is that there were no alternatives to cellphones back then for mobile communication for the masses. The charge times for cellphone and laptop batteries also generally haven't improved much.

There are however alternatives to combustion powered cars, and EVs aren't the only one.

A scripted performance car show made an EV look bad! Say it isnt so! Next thing you're going to tell me Victoria Beckham has fake boobs!
