I am looking for a place that can make authentic french macaroons for a wedding, are there any recommendations of places to try? Most of the places here do not make them nearly as nice as the ones I had in France.

Not yet... Didn't realize they even sold them. Will give them a shot, thanks for the reply. We have tried so many little bakery shops and they all seem to get it wrong with the filling.

Theres a french bakery shop close by lots and crates in randburg. I'll see if I can get the name from my friend. Its the real deal but also pricey.

Edit: its called Patisserie de Paris - http://www.patisseriedeparis.co.za/

apparently very good, supplies some coffee shop in Sandton City & Melrose Arch i think - along with tons of individual orders. I'm no foodie so i just chow it :D

edit to add: he was taught by a french chef person so pretty jacked up.

Where are you based? I have a friend in CT who makes. She even posted country-wide on an order basis.

Cassis! The best you'll get!

After trying quite a few of the suggestions above it seems that lindt shop in design is the closest to what we are looking for. Thanks to everyone for the recommendations/suggestions.
