Dell and Elitegroup Computer Systems have walked away with top honours in a competition for the best budget laptops with embedded mobile broadband.
The task, sponsored by Microsoft and the GSM Association, was for laptop makers to design a sub $1000 laptop with built-in HSPA adapters and software.

According to PC World the Dell was named the best commercially available broadband notebook while the smaller ultraportable ECS won as best pre-commercial design.
