Hey, probably a dumb question but was wondering if I stop paying for TopTV would I still be able to watch Etv and the SABC channels through the satellite & Decoder? If I remember correctly it used to work this way with DSTV.

No you can't. If it's suspended you just see the screen where it says you have to activate your subscription, you can't change the channel or nothing.

Just been through the TopTV website again and could not find anything. Not serious though, I want decent tv signal in my bedroom for SABC (tired of playing around with the bunny aerial) and thought it would be cheaper and less of a hassle to just get another dish installed and not pay the monthly charges.

I think it is R19 a month for SABC1,2,3 and etv and a few free channels. Just look on the TOPTV site.

That is the DSTV EasyView package pricing.
There is no way to get SABC, e.tv (so called free-to-air) without paying at least R99 (general bouquet).

If you are not planning on getting TopTV again and have a DSTV decoder, just re-align dish and pay R19 p/m. Much cheaper than the R99 route over the medium to long term.

I have TopTV in our lounge, was just trying to find a cheap and easy, albeit sneaky, way to get the free-to-air channels in my bedroom.

Why not just route an output from your TopTV decoder to you tv in the bedroom?
