TopTV Channel Misconception

Just for those who (unlike a select few) are still getting unnecessarily excited about two of the channels on TopTV, I thought I'd explain it:

Fox Entertainment is NOT the FOX Channel. Fox Entertainment airs earlier seasons of relatively popular shows whereas FOX airs current episodes of current seasons.

Showtime is NOT the same channel that airs shows like Californication, Dexter, etc.
It's a 24 hour movie channel.

Regardless of these two niggles, I still think the offering is excellent.

Perhaps, as they gain popularity here in SA (and with enough demand), they will be able to afford to bring these channels here as well. (Along with Comedy Central)

Has anyone seen the line-up for the channels that TopTV are compiling themselves?

Well it was reported they have deals with all major networks ... Fox ... Disney (I think Disney can also fall under a lot of other networks cause they have a major share in them ... but I'm not a tele expert so I wouln't know!)

this may be premature, but the top history- does anyone know if thats going to use the stuff from the BBC history channel, or is it going to be local stuff?

Its NOT...its a Scandinawian channel licensed to use the showtime brandname.


You will not get new seasons with any channel.Premuim content you buy and create your own premium channel/s.

I am amazed by the lack of information from ODM and TopTV on the programmes which will be offered when the go live.

I am quite sure that they read our threads here and see the frustration, confusion and ignorance about what we can expect. There are many, many people who want to leave MC and support ODM ... but after visiting the 2 websites on numerous occasions, I am left feeling extremely frustrated by the lack of information.

So how do they expect those who do not have the means to trawl through the web (looking for their own answers) to make the move?

ODM/TopTV, many of us want to support you and promote your service, but where is the information we need to make the decision to move?
