Hi All

I was searching for a thread like this but coudnt find anything...

I wanted to start a thread where people who already have TopTV can list current feedback/issues/requests with regards to the service to try and help TopTV with identifying and resolving/improving it as fast as possible, for the benefit of us all :)
Also then mentioning any improvements to the service such as issues that has already been resolved etc.

Please note the following:
  • This is NOT for issues relating to installation/activation, only for feedback on the channels, interface, general use, etc
  • Try to avoid CHANNEL requests as i'm sure they already have their future channels planned and lined up...

I posted something similar in another thread, but it is an example of how i hope we can use this thread:

Current issues:
  • I get quite a few blackout moments on various channels - where the image just blacks out for a second or 2 and then comes back again.
  • There are still a few channels with no program schedule on the EPG (FuelTV, CurrentTV, Star!, etc)
  • Every 'z' character on the EPG is replaced by a ' (apostrophe) - as in : "The mask of 'orro" for example.
  • The program descriptions needs to show more critical information eg. movie year, genre, actors, series episode number, title, etc
  • Still need to start showing some new movies / series as currently there are a lot of 'old' content - and i'm not referring to FoxRetro ;)
  • Some minor ease of use issues with the decoder interface such as:
    • setting reminders should be more streamlined (one click reminders)
    • in many instances while browsing through the EPG and checking show details, going back to
browsing the EPG, it defaults to the currently watched channel on the EPG instead of continuing from the channel that you were browsing last.
    • the info window that appears on the top of the EPG when you press 'i' cannot be removed without closing the EPG - i suggest the back/exit buttons should be allowed to close this info box independently

Fixed since the beginning of this week:
  • Pixellation on some channels (mostly Fox) has been removed / drastically reduced
  • EPG schedule has been synced
  • Some channels that previously had no EPG info have now received a program schedule
  • Most program age ratings has been updated on EPG (eg. PG13, 16, 18, etc)

Thanks for this list, nice summary. I can confirm I've also seen the issues you've marked as "fixed" are fixed on my decoder, and I'm really glad I'm not the only one who noticed the frustrating issues with the decoder interface.

Some people had reported issues of the sound and video being out of sync, would be good to hear if that's been resolved too. (I saw a few posts that seemed to say it had gotten better)

I can confirm the lipsync is sorted on majority channels..

Just FLN is giving me issues now - with sound and lipsynch.

I am glad they're looking into the matter, also noticed some Blackout on FLN - this could be due to fixing lipsync issues.

Wish they can get their online TV Guide up.

That would be awesome! I guess they need to get their EPG sorted first though, I think RichardG was saying that they're having some issue reading in the data sent to them by their partners overseas so I'm guessing that's their priority first. I keep seeing shows advertised for later on in the week that I really don't want to miss, so having an online guide would be awesome, I could plan my evening's viewing while I"m at work. ;)

This where they don't have a tv guide is not funny anymore. It's been more than two weeks and still nothing. This is starting to turn out to be like Botswana tv where their comin soon isn't the same as mine. They should have had a tv guide before launch to promote and brag what they have because on their website they brag about wrapping the worlds biggest hospital in their advert. Whats the use of advertising a product that can barely be bought.
