So the usb is a dud...pity! What did you try to record on then?

Well they'd indicated that USB would only be active when PVR comes in in Novemberish so it's no surprise.

Recording was done via: decoder --> TV Card --> Power Cinema

Didn't try other channels, will give it a go but I'd guess that Macrovision is applied across the whole video out.

All considered, unless the pvr is really cool on this device when it comes, I think I might be sticking to torrents. Thanks for all the info posted AntiThesis, much appreciated...next best thing to actually going through all the motions myself;-)

Spoke too soon - on checking it seems that it defaulted to "stretch" for the pictures so it just looks like it's all default WS. Will still just have to check if there are WS native channels.

Go into the "TV Setup" in the TopTV menu under Settings. Set your TV size to 16:9 and enable pillarbox for 4:3 content. There is some WS content playing. Check BBC world on channel 400 for example, Top Movie channels as well I think.

Thanks for the video! The menu's and everything look pretty sleek...I like the look of it....Over time it will show how effective and nice it is....I am almost feeling tempted now....
