When I got my Torch I ran into a problem after I changed the display font (I prefer BBCasual). All of a sudden there was no more font smooting and all fonts looked rough and jagged. I did some research and found a thread on the Crackberry forums which seems to indicate that this is a bug in OS 6.0 Bundle 695 (which is what our Torches are being shipped with). There also is no font smoothing option in Bundle 695.
There are several workarounds. One is, don't change your font away from the default one. Which is not exactly satisfying
Another one is to downgrade back to the previous version of OS 6 (which is only available from US carriers), then set the font to what you want, activate Font smoothing and upgrade back to the current version and leave the font settings be. The third, and that's the route I decided to try, is to install a newer version - Bundle 862, which is currently only available from French carrier Bouygues. It was a smooth upgrade, everything is running as it should, and Bundle 862 restores the font smoothing option in the display options.
