I started playing this game three days ago and found this game to be superior to Diablo 3 in a lot of ways. Anybody else play this yet? Your thoughts?

Cartoon ripoff of D3. That's my thoughts of it, however... AH and nothing to do after lvl60 made me stopped playing D3.

Torchlights biggest problem is the lack of error 37 :p

Lol. Bigger problems is enforced farming and having to pay stupid amounts for good gear. Seriously 20-60mil for a single item? lol ?

I wouldn't call it a ripoff, tbh. It was developed by part of the team who did Diablo 1 and 2, while Diablo 3 was done by a totally different team.

I agree with you on Diablo 3. Auction house and the insanely crappy loot that monsters drop completely killed it for me.

I'm quite well versed in who and what the team is and their complete history for both d3 and from d1, d2, lod, hgl, mythos, t1 and t2. One of the reasons why I bought t1 and t2 after the fallout with hgl and mythos.

Played TL2 for a couple of days - just doesn't do it for me :o

Prefer D3 :o :o

Kinda like searching for that perfect upgrade - both in game and on AH

@prophet - don't pick up anything below lvl 63 rares - much less frustrating

Doesn't help if I'm stocked all three pages of my stash with just legendaries for 60 and above its the selling is slow. Only other option is to use real money for items or gold. I wish legendary was legendary in the real sense of it and not what it has become now. AH is flooded with legendaries, might as well scrap it.

I love TL2. Probably the most enjoyable game I played in 2012.

I know what you mean - I've found that if you lowball then stuff sells pretty quick - so a quick sort by selling price, filter by one or two primary stats and then sell within lowest five price range (1.5 mill in the hand is better than a potential 6.5 in my stash :D)

Also, what a couple of us have started doing is "try before you buy" scheme with each other - if you like, make an offer - done deal.

I've also just started converting some of the low quality stuff to brimstone and have done with it.

Torchlight 2 is awesome, I played it for months. Took several characters all the way to level 100.

I have never played Diablo 3 because I refuse to pay that much for a PC game.

You pay for stuff? Thought you were the king of downloads...

If there is a legal online way of paying for it, that is not a rip-off, then I am totally game.
And it's not just me... there are four steam accounts running in this household.

If you say so.

Lol, each to their own.

Kinda feel like I wasted my money on TL - D3 on the other hand has provided hours of entertainment.

Really? You feel like the $19.99 didnt provide you value for the money spent, whereas, you paid around R480 for Diablo III and are totally satisfied? To each their own, as you say.

Personally I feel like I just had more of a fun time with TL2 off the bat. It installed, i opened it, i played without lag, and I loved it. D3 took me 2 days to install (some weird issue with doing this with iBurst - still, why could I not install from the DVD >.<) and when it came time to play, I couldn't log in. I think this is where the rage around D3 started - it was like the biggest anticlimax in my gaming life. D3 I played for about 100 hours or so, but I swear, I was sooo bored of the same ship over, and over again. I got through the story, got quite far into Nightmare Act 3ish, then something else took my attention, and I've just never gone back.

D3 is not a terrible game - it was just definitely not value for money to me, nor did it even come close to living up to the hype that Marketing built up around it. My personal dissapointment of the year. There were several games that were much better imo.

Sadly, this has just also disillusioned me with blizzard somehow. Im not going to buy the expansion, and I dont really feel drawn to by the second part of SC2....at least not until users start providing praise again.

Played and enjoyed both. Unfortunately, both had very limited entertainment value for me. Atleast I didn't expect anything from TL2.
Expected awesome sauce from D3 but let's face it, after the first playthrough on normal which is WAY too easy, it's just more of the same x3 :/

Looking forward to Path of Exile

There is always grimdawn

Eish, D3 for me really came into its own once I hit level 60 and when I started playing with a couple of the guys from the forum.

TL2 was just too cartoony, and, oddly enough, the sprites are too small.
