Hi

I'm looking for Torrent client for android I've tried aDownlaoder but downloads speeds appears to be throttled when downloading. I also tried download the same torrent on my PC and it downloads at full speed so I know its not ISP related.

Thanks;)

I used aDownloader and worked perfectly for me, got full speeds using both 3G or wifi, from what i remember it was the only client that actually worked.
Why would you want one for your phone though when you have a pc?

384k downloads... dead slow and requires pc to be left on for long periods of time. I received a shocking Eskom bill this month and no want to run torrents on my phone(extra) for this month and compare bill at the end of month . My Pc is only used for downloads (less then 30gig a month), occasional surfing on storage, so I can live without it for this month.... I think...

Interesting idea! Have you got a laptop to test and confirm whether there's something interfering with the radio for WiFi?

Sidenote: PC can't really drain THAT much juice in comparison to all the other appliances. I know my huge rig and fridge use combined 5units a day which is less than the geyser

Tonight I'll change my wifi password, then check router DHCP server to make sure no other devices are connected and monitors speeds again on aDownloader. I bought a media player with bittorrent client built in as an alternative but turned out useless cause it struggled with big files. Max files size I downloaded successfully was +/-150MB never tried again

I can guarantee you your Computer is not the cause for your high bill. I had 2 computers 1 running 24/7 and the other 7-9 hours a day, 450w and 850w and the whole household used 12-15units per day. Something else is chosing your juice man.

Also i got a lot smarter, seeing as ISPs really hate day time downloads and i have a wifi router i have the DL pc scheduled to shut down at 9am and power back on when i get home, this saved me maybe R50 in electricity, but i actually did it to save the HDD from failing and well in this heat its safer off than on.

Found a Wake On LAN app for my androind and instructions to make it work with tasker, so i scheduled the WOL to trigger when it connect to my WIFI during my home arrival time frame so that it does not keep running on random disconnects. DL PC a tad old so power on by schedule was not an option.

To be honest the only way you could have a PSU **** enough to actually be blamed for high power abuse is if you went back in time 10 years. No psu that would still be working is energy inefficient enough to actually be responsible.

I ended up still using my pc for torrents and not the android app as intended. My usage was 33Gig for Jan and 29gig Feb, a 4gig difference. My Eskom bill for last month was R400 less .. Conclusion - Eskom is screwing us big time
