I have a multiuser, by multiuser I mean a few bash shells, websites etc for friends and family on system hosted Linux box overseas. Long story short I have been getting a huge amount of MPAA takedown notices of late. I have in the past used so called block lists to mitigate this issue and not have the system shutdown, thus affecting the other user's.

Apparently blocklists are of no use as the MPAA now check the swarm for your IP rather than a direct setup. Is this the case? Is there any value in using blocklist's or am I so behind the times there is a different method now days?

Going to give justseed.it a try. Thanks for the replies.

1. limit your seeding. on default the ratio is set to "0", meaning unlimited.
2. Bandwidth is cheap from them, but keep in mind it get's used up with (a) leeching a torrent, (b) seeding a torrent, (c) actual downloading to your pc, and (d) keeping the files on the server "alive".
3. Don't start adding huge torrents and think because they state "unlimited disk space" it can just stay on their servers until you're ready to download it... it won't.
only download what you are prepared to download in the coming/following days.

But other than that, they are good.

I have had the same problem using a cheap box in Atlantis. I may or may not have set up this box to be a naygood torrenter, leeching and disconnecting straight away - meaning the window of opportunity to pick out my IP is usually a few minutes at most. Not the best solution and not very good for the swarm, but it seems to have improved things a bit.
