Torrent Downloader

What is the matter with the bittorent client? I've never had issues with it.

A few things:

- Pathetically slow download speeds for quite a few hours after a big download hits the scene due to peer/seed congestion. With Alldebrid you get a cached file ready to go instantly at 10+MB/s.
- Exposing your IP address whilst conducting illegal activity. Not typically an issue in SA but why do it.
- Torrents that were once popular but are barely or not seeded anymore are a misery or impossible to download. Alldebrid has years of cached content.
- Having to leave your PC on for hours or days for a super slow download. No issue with Alldebrid - just add it and forget about it until it's ready.
- And again, Alldebrid has a multihost downloader thrown in.

I have a 200Mbps fibre connection and THERE IS NO BETTER client than Bitcomet.

*Maxes my download speeds on public torrents. 26MB/s
*Make sure to log in with a free account containing no personal info to have access to Long Term Seeds (LTS) which other torrent clients do not have
*Has a build in download manager which is nice too.
*Emule p2p plugin for extra downloads
*Mirror link searches for http downloads to find other sources of the same file

If you are downloading on public torrents there is no better I tested them all. Deluge, transmission, picotorrent, vuze, bitlord, qbitorrent, utorrent, frostbite, bittorrent, tixati and a few others and bitcomet still comes out on top mainly because of the LTS feature.

There is no trojan and no ads. You can disable the start page too if you wish.

@Bryn

Alldebrid is well AMAZING. Been using it for quite some time and most public torrents is all already cached so no need to wait for downloads to be cached. Alldebrid linked with jdownloader is a dream and if you don't mind paying a few bucks monthly this service is really the way to go.

I prefer downloading my torrents over http.

Alldebrid is the best such service I've come across. Their pricing page: https://alldebrid.com/offer/

€8.99 for 3 months (roughly R50 a month effectively) is more than reasonable imo. And it can download from most popular video streaming services and hosts too. Almost always maxes out my 100Mbps line, and you can usually start downloading instantly if the torrent has already been cached for another user. Very handy when you want to download a very popular torrent shortly after release or try your luck with a torrent that is no longer seeded. Officially supported by JDownloader, and you can even paste download links directly into the JDownloader browser extension.

But they do not like vpn?

I get "fokkof met jou vpn meneer"

Hmm alright. I've just always looked for things with a good number of seeds and if that's present download speeds usually are at the max my internet can do, have had issues here and there, consistency in download speeds of large torrents say 50Gb or so but usually sorts itself out.

No need for a VPN if you're not downloading any P2P stuff. VPN's tend to ruin my DL speed anyway.
I suppose, but all my traffic* routes through a vpn regardless if its news24.com, pornhub.com or even oneangrygamer.net. Haven't had any speed related issues. In fact, I get better throughput [sometimes].

It's just an observation. If alldebrid works for you, then that is fine too.

*of course gaming goes naked. You'd be rather daft to tunnel that.

I am using Vuze for all my downloads of torrents, it have something like free and paid versions as well. It add some serious feature to it's free edition, feel free to browse all that is here http://www.vuze.com/compare.php thanks in advance, bye;)

I use Deluge with the scheduler option enabled on for day to day stuff.

For 24/7 seeding I use Transmission. It's super lightweight and it just works.

µTorrent and Bittorrent have gone to the dogs. Constant crashes and invasive adverts.

Yes there is a random crash issue with the latest qbitorrent, I would suggest def not using the latest version.

Yeah right after Transmission I would vote for Deluge.

Both are incredibly powerful in their simplicity.

Transmission also does scheduling?
