I use uTorrent. I hate wasting bandwidth on fakes! I am addicted.

uTorrent here as well. Encryption does seem to help slightly.
Make sure that ports are forwarded correctly on router.

Another thing, XP SP2 limits the allowable number of TCP/IP connections.
It can be fixed by editing tcpip.sys or by running a patcher. Info and patcher can be found here:

What would be the gain if the port forwarding was set up correctly. Would you see an increase in dl speed or what?
Also what is the dangers in doing this?

Also, remember to forward the post uTorrent uses on your DSL router. For this, its best NOT to randomize the port uTorrent each time it starts!!

If you've got a newish router, just make sure the uPNP settings are correct and also configured in uTorrent (that's where the u comes from most likely), then you don't have to forward ports etc.

It's not actuall a "u", it's a "µ" (micro symbol)
