Probably shouldn't post this (don't know who reads this)

Is there any way of configuring a port for torrent downloads that will still allow me to use it properly after my cap is reached?

I'm currently downloading at *B/s (kB/s would be nice)

Send me email if u know

nope, your capped on the ip not the port. ie. no way around it that way.

Come on guys (n dolls) I know you know

There must be a way

Unfortunatetly not, otherwise I would be a rich man by now... Port and packet shaping yes, but not capping.

nothing out there yet that i know of. however, i think its a matter of time now before you can bypass the international cap for torrents - it will be rewritten to work similarly to skype eventually (on skype, you hide behind your firewall and you are automatically directed to a supernode for access to the p2p network - and you use the supernodes international bandwidth)
but telkom have clicked onto all this, and round about august, local will be capped as well...

Has the 'local will be capped' been confirmed?

If so Telkom can then take a flying leap - I'll cancel and go with someone else

If I put you all on a 1mbit switch, thats not connected locally to the 1gigbit switch, there is no way in hell you will get onto the 1gigabit switch..

Thats pretty much how telkom cap you, they assign u to a different "router" that assigns u a different ip and then that goes locall on same route yet internationally its shared among X thousand other users on a very small pipe.

No way around this.

How come the Dc++ site is international now i cant access it!!!!!!!!!!!

I have also heard from an ISP that the writing is on the wall and that the wall says August at the moment.
