Anybody in CT getting their torrents to connect? I'm having a real hard time and those who actually connects sits at 0-1kb ...

:O It's happened. They've extended the clamp down, rant rant..

Seriously though, I'll give it a go now..

EDIT: Erm.. what do I actually want to download :/ Aah thought of it, now I hope they do work :(

btw, I'm capped now, and really capped this time.

Well I got one torrent, but it was seeded by 3 people, only one connected and at 1.7kb.

I guess thats pretty inconclusive so I'll try something else thats well seeded just to be sure.

But it sounds bad if an unshaped account is dead for torrents. :(

Actually it seems fine here, I got a well seeded torrent to connect and download at 6kb in a few seconds. I was also downloading something on http at the same time which I forgot about, but it was a single thread so most of the bandwidth went to the torrent.

Basically full speed in that case, being capped.

Phoned Helpdesk....gave me some settings for Dr.TCP...did not help :(

Why not give this a try?

Check if the torrent application you're using can encrypt data. If not I'd suggest getting uTorrent (www.utorrent.com) set your incoming port to 22. Since I've done this my speeds have increased phenomenally!

P.S. If you happen to use SSH or SCP on your iBurst connection just make sure you either set the torrent app to another port or exit from it totally before attempting a login. If you don't know what SSH or SCP is then nevermind, this won't effect you :D

Good great lord of solsbury steak fixmeup!

Now Tor never worked for me.....(always the same issue with it only getting an ip address no matter what client I used...and trying http mode did nothing) BUT THIS! This is a solution of merit! Downloads are actually nice and stable!

Huzzah!!

Glad to hear it works for others :D :D :D
Consider me the defender of the downloads from the evil corporations

No doubt iBurst will have there spies glued to the site for posts like these (hi boys... tell your mom she owns me change) but if they start throttling port 22 traffic all hell will break loose...

P.S. you can use port 21 (FTP) or 22 (telnet) as well. 443 and 80 are options but only if you're not browsing the web (and disable Windows and any other applications updates) and perhaps 53 (dns) but that will no doubt cause more hassle than what it's worth... There is loads of other ports available (MSN messenger, Yahoo messenger, Gtalk/jabber come to mind)...

Just tried that...0Kb ... :( I use to get like 100Kb+ ...what's going on here

Im down in CT on holiday and thought (wot Ive read on the forum) that P2P rocks down here and I wanted to dl some torrents. Oh my...2.2kb/s is not good. I think Cape Town might have been added to the torrent ban!

Strange, I got to 6kb in a few seconds after connecting and I'm capped...

I'll give it a go in two days time when the caps reset.

Maybe I must cap myself or something...seriously this sucks. Had some timeout on my google pings aswell.
