Hi all,

There's a torrent I'm busy downloading ( Not porn ) lol & I would like to know is there any way to "fool" your ADSL connection into treating the download as the HTTP protocol?

When I download games in STEAM it goes full speed 24/7. ( I'm not sure if STEAM is treated as HTTP download ). If I download a NVidia display driver via HTTP I get full speed also. But torrents are obviously shaped or whatever.

ISP: Telkom ADSL
Line: 4mb Uncapped
OS: Win 7 64-bit SP1

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Well the best way I can think of is TorGuard. Make a vpn connection and download any file full speed. But.... you have to pay for the service.

find another protocol. imagine everyone was as selfish as you. then everyone's internet experience would be fsucked.

Feel free to keep remarks like those to yourself.

Have a nice day.

If you start raping the HTTP protocol they will start shaping you there too. There really isn't a 100% foolproof way of getting around shaping.

Use nzb files/newsgroups.

100x faster, reliable but you would need to possibly subscribe to Usenext/Astraweb etc.

If you can find the nzb and it is 30 days or less old, it costs nothing.

I see. It was merely a question.

@akescpt : You will have a nice day whether you like it or not. It's because I care about you & what happens to you.

Thank you to all who replied. Including my friend akescpt.

depending on isp they will throttle nzb traffic as well during the day

nzb's. 12am to 7am. SABNZBD. Scheduler.

or:

Torrents. 12am to7am. Scheduler.

/thread.

Your ISP will likely throttle you based on usage anyway so good luck.

$10 per year vps running ruTorrent then sftp to retrieve your items.

Yes there is. Pay for an unshaped account.

Hey guys, I have been using Put.io which is awesome, $9.99 a month (100GB storage with unlimited bandwidth). This allows you to dl via secure HTTP and FTP. I have also tried quicktorrent.io and justseed.it which is very cheap. I am trying to find something that works the same as Put.io but a bit cheaper. Has anyone here tried seedboxbay at $5 a month? 100 GB with 1GB/s speeds and unlimited bandwidth, so it look pretty good. When you sign up you can also get a 10% discount.

have you tried setting your port to 80 or 81 in your torrent client? torrents can run on any port as long as you aren't hosting a web server. you may need to open your selected port in your router, which is a security risk but might speed up your torrents. (google change torrent ports 80). also remember torrents will always be slower than downloading from a single multi-thread source like Steam.
