Torrents - Telkom Internet

Are d/loads via torrents generally slower on Telkom Internet vs IS? I am getting around 8KB on TI compared to 32 KB the other day on IS or is it just the time of day??

depends if you're shaped or not..

Yup, I realise that - maybe I should have asked if Torrents are shaped on IS?

IS is unshaped, only latency is a bit higher which shouldnt affect downloading. torrents max out at close to line speed. even with all their problems recently, after hours there were no problems with torrents. on SAIX my torrents used to max out at 10-15KB/s. off course some on SAIX would beg to differ saying that they never had problems on a shaped account but thats a very small percentage of people

I must be one of the few, I actually have both a saix and an IS account. Sofar my torrents are actually faster on the SAIX acc than the IS acc.
On IS I get 52KB/s down intl, on SAIX I get 65KB/s down intl on a 512k line.

weird eh?
