T6 Cell Phone Screw Driver

Howzit, I work in a cell phone shop, so i rekon to buy them local, iv seen them at most "cash crusaders" the 2nd hand shop.. that mostly sell new things now.. haha,, its in a pack of 4 :)

So you will have the screw drivers for Nokia, Motorola & Ericsson:cool:

PS: Do you have an opinion on the likelihood of resurrecting a 6820 & 6230 that quite literally drowned?
 
Water Damage

Well, 1st of all, with all water damaged handsets, the repair rate on them are 50% / 50%... you never know.. but what i always say, TAKE THE BATTIER OUT, but im sure u done that already.. ok, then its when it got wet, and with what water? tap water or bath water = slow rust, salt water = fast rust...

you need to get your hands on that T6 screw drive then, and a bottle of "metholated spirits, the purpal kind" will do, pop open the fone, carefull with the LCD, take an OLD tooth brush "not ur girl friends" and blush the board with the "metholated spirits" nice and wet all over, it will stop any water from drying and corrosion... ok, now u need a good old hair dryer.. but not one thats going to burn out after 5mins of blowing heat on the cell phone board... then ur gf's gonna be real pissed.. haha.. ok, so with the hair dryer u need to heat that board UP! the "soldier" only gets really soft around 300 degree's, so i dont think u will do any damage with the hair dryer.. so u going to heat the board, then let it cool, and heat and let it cool... dont burn ur fingers, cauze its going to hurt, cauze theres Spirits on the board.. after the board is clean and cooled off, you can brush out the cover and all the dust... so the fone is good as new when u put it together,, you can test the battiery buy placing your tung on the connectors,, you will get a little shock if theres power on it, or a slight bad taste if its flat...

after that close the fone, pop the battier in and put it on charge.. it should light up Immeditly!!! :D

If it doesnt after a while... u got problems, and you going to have to take it in to the Doctor's :(
 
I got as far as getting the covers off of both phones and didn't have the T6 to go further, but I cable-tied the phones to a very strong fan for 2 days, I also sprayed the 6820 with silicone spray [can of Q8], anyways I assume I need new batteries bcos neither phone worked with charger cable. I know this is a lost cause, now I'm more thinking of full disassembly & mounting the bits in a frame...

PS: Water was unrefined drinking water from the Vaal...
 
To a Fan???

So you telling me you kept the water inside the phone nice and cool for 2 days??? thats not good,,, i hope it was a HOT fan...

and i phone has REALLY TINY parts :o not like your mother board... so to get water out of it is not that easy... and its a bad idea to put the battier or the charger in... you cant dip your TV in the swimming pool, blow it with a fan and plug it in... whats going to happen:confused: some things gonna blow.. and with a cell phone, if you do that.... some things going to blow :eek: just that you wont see it or know.. then theres no ways of saving you phone.. and they both such cool phones! im working at 9am, bring them around and ill sort them out... hehehehe.. i feel sorry for your fones :( .. i hope you can save them..
