what torx scredriver do i need to open up the xbox 360.

I haven't done this in a year, but I think it was an 8 or 9. Just google a bit Should give you the right answers under a minute. Actually you should be following a tutorial for the first time you are opening it, which will tell yo exactly what you need.

T10 for the silver screws and T8 for the small black screws

You will need a T8H Screw driver to open the controller. I had to order one from overseas as I couldnt find one here.

For security torx you can also simply use a flat head screwdriver. Alternatively you can just break off the security pins and use a normal torx bit.
