Toshiba Notebook Support, good or bad?

Hi all,

I know someone going to the US on holiday soon so I'm looking at getting them to bring me a laptop back.

My big concern is what the support will be like back in SA. I think most notebooks come with an international warranty (atleast HP & Toshiba, didn't check others) but what is the actual support for those international warranties here like, in particular Toshiba?

I wanna get a Toshiba but now have read some bad stuff on the forums about their support from Rectron & Mustek who are listed on Toshiba's site as their official repair centres in SA. If not Toshiba then who?

rectron only do toshiba as far as i know

it took them 2 weeks to fix a clients laptop

stay away from toshiba

support is shocking

Thanks killadoob. According to Toshiba's ASP Locator, both Rectron & Mustek are ASPs (http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_gaspLocator.jsp?subs=tais).


Anyone else got any comments pls ?
