Im looking at this multimedia player, is it worth it and does the HDMI 1080 upscaling mean that it will play 1080 videos or will it just upscale a normal 480 picture to fit a 1080 HD TV.

K, this one is only max 1080i, which means any 1080p movie you have, can't be displayed by the unit. I'm not sure what price range it is, but there are plenty other players out the (R1000 - R3000) that have better functionality and better range. Upscaling is a misnomer in my books, as you can't add pixels to 480 picture. It does however try and "fill" to it's best ability.
