Hello I have a emachines e729, every time I start the laptop the trackpad does not work, like it moves and stuff but doesn't select anything, cannot open or close anything, all it's good for is moving the cursor, but when I connect a USB mouse and disconnect it after the track pad is working perfectly, it's like it needs a jump start, any idea why this is happening and how's do I fix it? It has windows 7 with 32bit

Have you tried uninstalling the trackpad software / driver and installing a later version?

Have you checked power management on it? It could be doing stupid things with the power management...

If this is bothering you might as well send it back for repair.
