Hey

I am planing to get myself a touch screen cell phone.. are they really as "easy to break" as they say?

Anyone that has a touch phone would like to recommend one?

HTC Hero. No doubt.

I have, through actual drops, found that the Hero has a metal edging.

I dropped it from 1.5m onto rough concrete. Not even a scratch. (I also accidentally kicked it against my car - trying to break the fall).
I also routinely drop it onto tiles. No scratches. None.

I love this phone.

The iPhone is surprisingly robust. I'd wait until the next gen is announced though.

I have dropped my N97 a few times onto brick and concrete and the screen is still good. i also have a little screen film protector for scratches but even that is not really required. Im actually quite suprised how robust and accurate they are.

It's amazing how phones are constructed nowdays.

My phone hit concrete at horrible velocities, yet not even a scratch on the screen.
Though, I do plan to buy screen protection for my Hero.

I have a touch diamond 2 - also surprisingly robust. No problems there at all :)

Some of the new kids on the block have a higher return rate than more established brands. This is due to the more extensive test facilities used by brands such as Nokia and SE. Buying one of their touch screen phones is a good start if you are worried about robustness.

I see..

Sounds like the Hero is rather good to use... do anyone know how much it cost to get one of thoses?

[I thought iphones couldn't phone.. and they are also rather expensive.. ><]

anyway, thanks for the information.
