Xperia screen gets damage with metal objects in pocket for one. Secondly, I've had plenty flip phones in the past and I like themWhy would you need such a phone?
Can you recommend a fairly decent touch screen flip phone?
Preferably where the screen is protected on the inside.
All screens are protected on the inside mate. It is the outside that scratches.
To protect the outside, get a clear screen protector and use a pouch
You know what I mean. I want the phone to flip ok
OK, so you've got a 4" touch screen that flips open to ~8" - what's the non-touch section of the clamshell used for?

Keys, blades, ninja stars etcWhy would you keep metal objects in your pocket? My Xperia doesn't have a scratch on the screen.

Ok will check. Samsung has one but it's a dual screen. Not in SA I think
With the candybar form factor dominating the Android smartphone space, it's somewhat puzzling to see one of the big players on the market do this kind of a phone. The flip phones waste a lot of space for a smartphone world obsessed with huge batteries, large screens and slim waistlines. We'd be glad to be proven wrong though - unlocking some new smartphone potential we haven't considered just yet is always refreshing.
Think you'll find the weight is due to the two 3.3" touchscreens, doubt battery life will be great either driving all the additional hardware.I would not mind a heavier phone due to bigger battery. Battery life is a big plus for me
