Last night we had a kitten rock up here, we cant find its home & it keeps coming back. Anyway so this morning it takes a walk across my Acer Travelmate's keyboard (pushes the right click button amongst others) & then the touchpad stopped working.

Tried restarting
Checked control panel settings
Re-installing the drivers
Uninstalling & reinstalling them again

But it still doesnt resognise any movement on the pad or any clicks from it

What else can I try :(

Damn cat, anyone want a ginger & white kitten :erm:

Your cat de-activated the panel. I did that myself once on my old Acer TravelMate 8104 WLMi years ago. You need to look on the keyboard for the 2 key combination to re-activate the touchpad - or it may even be one key.

It's a picture of a rectangle with a long, finger like thing pointing to it - there may be one for ON and one to switch the feature OFF.

Not my cat, even though he's forgiven now

Thanks Peter I found it, its function F7. You would think it would work in combo with the activate in the control panel, what if my F7 key broke
