Seems to be an excellent keyboard so far. Has it's own swype-like system or you can type the old fashioned way, caters to both methods so you can switch between them as you please. I've been using a version of the Gingerbread keyboard for ages but this finally pulled me away from it.

Free, no ads. Possibly the best but I haven't used it enough to make that call yet. Really liking it so far.

Edit: Don't know why I didn't bother with a link...

Also liking it. I've never really been happy with any of the alternate keyboards available but I think this keyboard basically has everything and is really easy to use with swiping etc.

I tried it but it seems very similar anyway to the standard Swype app offered on my Galaxy S2. Shrug.

The difference is the Swype keyboard only caters to the swipe method of typing, not both. This keyboard tries to do everything.
Go Keyboard tries to do the same but I found it doesn't pull it off as well.
They claim their swiping system is better than Swype, there's a video demonstration on their website: http://www.cootek.com
They compare it to Swype and do some demonstrations, while playing some awful music :p

Ok this looks like a nice keyboard. Thank you. Pity that it does not have different skins, but I guess the default one will do.

Perhaps skins will come in future. I think this keyboard will sell very well when it goes paid, which should mean more development.

True I have been testing it for a bit and I must say I love the prediction. It really speeds up typing. The keyboard size and style is fine its just the colours that I wish I could change to fit with my theme.

Well what do you know, their next release has themes! Only the Chinese version has been updated so far, don't know when we get the update.

I've used it a bit more now and I'm starting to prefer it over the standard Swype. Much nicer prediction. It would be nice if we could drag the scroll bar of the suggested words like in Swype, I keep trying to do it by habit and it selects the word instead of scrolling instead.

To bad no predictions/dictionary for Afrikaans. I seldom type English SMSes...

Still quite nice although discovering more niggles. Sometimes my words get repeated and it doesn't recognise names from my contact list like Swype does

It can recognise names from contacts. You need to go into the settings and choose "Import contacts".

I think the word repeating issue is fixed in the next update, V5, which is still only available for the Chinese version. Don't know why they haven't updated the English version yet. Hopefully it comes soon.
