Hi

how much does it cost to fit/buy a tow bar on a vw citi, roughly?

i think about ~ 3500 - 4500 rand. dont forgot that it also has to have the electronics done which is the most expensive part sometimes.

Have something changed lately ?

Last one I had done was on a Toyota, there is a plug where they connect the cables to and whala.... I think it was R 1 700 back then.... 2003 (not sure)

R 4500 I will never have it done for that price. I only need the knob for my new Bakkie :o Eddie's Spares FTW ! :p

Since the heaviest object you can tow with a citigolf is a [-]humanbeing[/-]80kg piece of rooibok, all you need is a piece of wire.... :eek:

Not true, I towed a double axel trailer with load from Pretoria to Jo'brug in a 1300 Golf :D

The car didn't like it all that much but it made it :p
 
Merc, Land Rover and BMW's with the 'fold away' tow bar...9.5K to have it fitted! That is crazy! The tow bar is worth more than the trailer!

We towed a 22ft barefoot ski-boat with a 1300 Toyota Tazz with great success - even launched the boat using the Tazz...ha ha. Getting it out of the water was a slight problem though!

You can get it far cheaper than the prices that are being mentioned around. Just go to the scapyards or check source-a-part.co.za. I paid R250 for my camry and went to the guys who work for this big fitment centre after hours and have it fitted for only R150. That is a difference of R1700 -400= R1500,00.
 
Got an insurance quote infront of me - some douche knocked my tow bar in and it nees to be replaced.

1. Supply Tow Bar - 3258.50
2. Labour 360.

Thats without VAT - also for a 1994 Honda Ballade.
