Tow Bars

Hey guys. Looking for some info on tow bars.

Who fits them, average price, can they bugger up the cars electrics when they install?, would it affect the cars warranty etc.

Any recommendations? What is the average price? The car is a Nissan Qashqai 2l petrol.
 
When I had a tow bar fitted by the VW dealership in Durban they sent the car to speedy exhaust.They have to order it for you as they don't keep any stock.
So if the dealership sends it, then I don't see how the warranty can be affected.

try speedys, direct. (i did for my renault - seems many agents use them anyway). speedys stocks / fits 2 types i know of... the bosal make (which is cheaper, but can look rather phallic !), or the 'rhino bar' make (which is more pricy but imo looks better, has the respective car manufacturer logo etc. nice). no complaints re my local speedys work.

That is full on bloody ridiculous. For years and years, cars have come with tow hitch ready harnesses, and a car like a Qashqai should definitely have it as a standard on the harness.

I would speak to Nissan about that if i was you.

Apparently this harness connects straight into the cars computer. Will have a chat to Nissan during the week.
I can get a a towbar for the 1.4 Getz for R2800, but 1.4 vs 2.0, not sure what to go for.

Does that mean you are looking at either a Getz or a Qashqai?

There are better options out there IMHO!

My Subaru is proving to be bloody fantastic!.....................and it's got a tow-bar!! ;)

Have both without a towbar, but need to do a lot of towing in the next few months. So got quotes for both cars. Awesome cars.

I thought you were either going to buy one or the other, and I couldn't see how you could be comparing the two!
