Tower locations

A quick search did not yield a dedicated thread for this. Is it viable to sticky one so that each of us can post tower locations in our respective areas? Since this is a pet interest, I'll probably drive out to each tower, record the tower ID as well as the GPS co-ordinaries.

What do to guys think?

Good luck with this.

There is a thread in the Cell-C section which lists most of their base stations. Also, in the iBurst section are locations of base stations posted by MyBB members.
I'll add links if I can find them.

Wow, some of those are quite interesting. I may have to get a Nexus 7 just for this. :D
 
There is a greater chance to win the lotto than to get tower locations from cellphone companies. I don't if they think that we will steal their equipment or what ? And all we want is to point antennas in the right direction
 
Gah! Locations aside, it's quite a buggy, rubbish app. Their speedtest is utter tripe.
 
Good luck coming right with this one. I remember back in the day with old phones it use to display exactly the location of the tower example extension 5 Selby etc, you would be in Johannesburg Hilbrow and picking up that tower.
