I'm wondering exactly how much of the country Sentech plan on covering with MyWireless ?

Obviously the urban areas, which leads to my next bit of pondering, how long will tower tuning go on - my guess would be as long as there are places requiring coverage, so it could be a while ?

I suppose once your area is saturated with enough slightly overlapping signals, no more tuning needs to be done for your area, so outward spreads the coverage.
IOW, your in the center of a coverage area surrounded by other coverage areas.

I'll probably look at Return on Capital for each tower and base their decisions on that. Take it a couple of towers at a time. See how fast the SNO get's its act together.

If 3G towers keep on getting cheaper year after year, coverage could approach cellphone coverage.

I think they'll keep on tuning as long as they don't have other work to do (like building new towers). I haven't seen ANY change in my signal for 2 months.

Future "tuning" will be done before the tower goes active, in other words before the backhaul is switched on.
As far as I know the whole of JHB the "tuning" has been completed with maybe 1 or 2 left in PTA.

Cool !

That's good to know ProAsm. Must admit, I've had a rock steady connection for a week. Last uptime was 6 days, but I had to reboot my firewall after patching. Oh well :)
