Please write that in English, and I will see if I can help you.

PS _ I see you are new here. This is not Mxit, please try and use the whole keyboard and use actual words. Grown ups tend to read these threads...;)

Jeez - took me a while to decipher what you wrote!

Still battling to read that last sentence.

LOL, you aren't the only one!! :D

You need a Mxit decoder to work that one out. How can people actually "talk" to eachother like that??

Is that the Lexus V8 Conversion?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Toyota_engines
1985-1993 - 2.2 L (2237 cc) 4Y

I assume it's petrol.
Ok, engine change - thinks to take note off / look at

Mounting brackets to mount in new car
Gearbox modification
-either mating gearbox with new engine
(adapter plate, flywheel, clutch kit)
-or mating new gearbox+engine with different car
(Mountings, side shafts)
Engine management system if fuel injected (R3-5k)

ermm...why the 4y? it's a smaller less powerful motor. I would personally stick with a VW motor.

You could work out what he was asking for??

At least he was able to spell his name out in full.

Since It's here I might as well ask.

My fiend took his Madza Double cab and changed the engine to a Lexus (Toyota) V8 engine. The full conversion cost him just over R 20k. R 22k and some change. Now according to him with it being automatic he is getting better fuel consumption than he did with his 2.2 Petrol I think it was? Anyway, he says he is getting 7.5 km's a liter. Currently I'm getting 6km's a liter in my V6. You guys think these kind of conversions are worth it?

It has a great deal to do with power to weight ratio, and provided you aren't slotting a V8 into a Mini, you very often end up with superior consumption, thanks to a bigger engine. My 2.0 litre Polo Playa was much lighter on fuel once I went from 1.4 to 2 litres - lighter throttle opening leads to better performance than you had in the first place.

Same story if you compare an old 1.3 Citi with a 1.6 - always get better consumption with the 1.6.

You lot scared the oke away now.. shame :)

:D These newbies must learn from DAY ONE that we actually speak English on MyBB - He can do the whole Mxit rubbish with his buddies, but if he wants to say anything here, he's going to have to learn a real language! ;)

Translation :

Does anyone know how good is the 4Y engine that Autostyle sells?

I'm thinking about converting my 2.5 Caravelle with a Toyota 4Y motor, and is looking for advice if anyone has done that. Will it be a good thing?

I'm in Debbin. Where in Debbin can I buy this conversion kit?

Other Mxit people tole me that I must change my sump, get a new crossmember with new mountings as well as a flywheel and adapter plate.

And Ook will tell you to take a course in English. :p
