Oh yes, a thread about one of the most legendary hatches of the 90's era.

Have you checked your shocks?

It's the steering rack itself or the steering rack mounting rubbers that are gone. Make sure you get the rubbers from the agents if it's a power steering. You might want to also change the steering wheel shaft while you at it if that's got play. I've just been around the mill with front suspension for a Corolla. Also check the CV and tie-rod ends if it's got any play but to me it's most likely the rack mountings or the rack itself.

You let your wife drive your Corolla you gonna have a noisy/irritating sound on your right hand side. Start driving yourself without her in the car.

Description of the noise? grinding, knocking, groaning, squealing or squeaking, this might help anyone who would like to assist.

This. Had the same issue on my 89 model about 10 years back. Although it's easy enough to replace it yourself, if you're not mechanically inclined, it probably won't cost an arm and a leg to pay someone to replace it.

i have bought new shocks, lower ball joints,cv and i am using size 14 tires 175/65

Good you had the shocks done. That's one that can throw diagnosing the problem around. Basically the front 2 wheels need to be jacked in the air and the steering rack needs to be shaken about. Same with CVs. Then you take it from there.
