Toyota GT86

lol i doubt he understands when to buy in cash when to fiance. Leave him SARS will rape him

If you have the money, it's better to buy cash, irrespective of price. Why would anyone want to be paying instalments and interest on a depreciating asset? Come on guys, this is not rocket science.

Just to be crystal clear on this - we may not accept more than R 50 000 in cold hard cash - the rest can be in the form of a bank guaranteed cheque, or it can come in as an EFT.

I did a Prado for R670 000 that way last week. - EFT.

Yes Mike, but we are dealing with Haldex here who clearly is not a rocket scientist! :p

Whats the limit of R50,000?

:erm: so in your esteemed point of view, anyone who can buy a car without finance is stupid....yea, go figure....

Nope, that's silly.

Having the cash and paying cash is 2 different things.

Hmmm depends on the value of the car, if its like chump change then no its better to buy it in cash but if its like a million rand vehicle then yes its stupid to buy it in cash. Depends what your salary bracket is.

Yes you can buy cars in cold hard cash, its legal tender therefore they must abide by retail law. At the end of the day a dealership is just a retailer

True I guess 300k is not so bad.
Always thought it was minimum 2 installments excluding a cash deposit.

interested in hearing the argument in favour of financing? Unless you get a really good financing deal or some tax (or other) benefit I don't see why one wouldn't want to pay cash.

edit: e.g. if toyota gave me 0% interest, i'd obviously finance it

Please enlighten us dear finance guru.

Yeah, I'm curious about this as well. My CA employers obviously don't know anything about finance if they recommend buying cash when possible except with the tax breaks we get.

Ok, I must be one of those stupid people then, how silly of me to buy my car cash

Slightly off topic freeway toyota doing a zero percent deal on 6 models (not 86) 25percent deposit 36 months to pay
