Toyota Yaris only one reverse light

So I got my new toyota yaris, however I noticed something odd and just wanted confirmation.

Does the yaris only have one rear reversing light and one rear fog light? This seems very odd, and just wanted to confirm?

It's a fairly common thing on smaller cars now (at least those sold in Europe).

Many cars have only had one reverse light since wow, the late 90's!.

Why? What difference does it make?

Most cheaper cars these days have one rear fog and one rear reverse lamp.

I just wish that the rear fog could only be switched on when there is actual fog or poor visibility. Some fools think that it's foggy all the time.

Well then shouldn't the steering wheel on the right or left (depending on left or right hand drive) and not in the centre cause an issue too?

What about the exhaust pipe being on one side?

It's funny how many posters talk about a rear reverse light. I have never seen a front reverse light in my life.
