Greetings, friends.
Hope this is in the right forum:
So, my parents have a big house, but only one router to serve the whole place with Wifi.
My dad acquired two TP-Link AC 750 Range Extenders, which I have setup via WPS, effectively extending the range of the router to cover the whole house.
I have put two extenders in close proximity so as to boost the signal in a part of the house that is quite remote, and while this worked fine for a while, I'm now having issues, which include:
* My MacBook Pro showing that I'm connected via WiFi, but I lose my connection to the internet intermittently, after which it reconnects. I would say I go down every minute or two, then go back up for a few seconds, after which the problem repeats itself;
* My mom's iPad has also dropped out every once in a while;
* My iPhone works for the most part, but I've had rare issues with it too;
* Samsung Smart TV connects fine most of the time, as does PS4
To troubleshoot I have tried to:
* Hard Reset the Extenders and set them up from scratch via WPS;
* Tried to use only one at a time;
* Switch wifi on and off on all devices; sometimes this produces results, sometimes it doesn't.
* Use only one extender; this seems to be a good option, but the remote room has poor connectivity.
Does anyone have any advice? Would it be advisable to manually assign IP addresses to devices via Mac addresses on router?
Thanks!
