HI, does anybody here understand the warranty of the TP-LINK modems and what the honor is of the warranty.
I am struggling to see how an internationally recognized company can have difficulty with swapping out a modem.
I would like to get my ADSL modem warranty swapped or even equivalent.
I have so far heard they would find out from their superiors what can be done - weather exact same device or equivalent is available.
It would be really disappointing to know that the warranty can not be satisfied.
I bought a really expensive device gift or not a gift and maybe the price should bot matter, i just hope it is dealt with accordingly and they honor their 3 year warranty.

Bought it over seas, and was sent as gift. No idea what happened to the modem, it is unplugged when i am not home because i have had a few issues with Telkom technicians cutting the line where i used to stay and then here now, so i rather just unplug the stuff. also power switches for surges or load shedding type efforts.
Modem turns on and all LEDs flash and then only wireless x2, power and ethernet LEDs turn on. The ADSL and Internet LEDs dont flash or stay stable.

Try an do a 30/30/30 reset.

Press reset button while the power is on
Keep the button held, and pull power for 30 secs
Power up again, still holding the power button for 30 secs

You will lose all your settings, but might help clear the firmware to factory again

you mean power on again with the switch (its a flip switch) while still holding the reset button ?
so i basically keep holding the reset button with a toothpick while i unplug and then replug ....

That's correct. Try and keep the timings.

So 30 whilst on, 30 whilst off , and 30 whilst on. Keep holding the reset in the whole time

OP,

You would have to look at TPLs warrantees.

As an example:
Dell offers international warrantees on some of their units(not all). If you bought one in the UK they WILL honour it here.
I have assisted a customer with an UAE purchased unit with int warranty.
However if you bought a Dell 3558 with the basic carry-in warranty and you go to the UK and the unit needs repair Dell UK will tell you sorry-for-you either pay to fix it or take it back to ZA. Core will also tell you to pay or go away if you buy a Mac outside of ZA in most cases.

So NO manufacturers do NOT have to offer international warrantees on ALL their products.

So you might have to ship your unit back to where it came from if you want it warranty repaired/exchanged. And that shipping will be for your own pocket.

Would i want to leave my phone line in and my utp cable in while doing this? or is the Power cable enough ?

Just unplug everything, will make it easier to do. It's basically a factory reset. As it's not working anyway, you don't have much to lose
