I wonder if anyone knows about this router. Bought from Amazon and advertised as having a triple core 1.5 GHz CPU, in the settings portal, it appears to have a 2-core CPU, no info on the clock speed. I'm unlikely to notice a difference in performance, but just curious if I've missed something or Amazon has their product info wrong. Router is V3.

On the product main page, it is still advertised as a Triple-Core CPU:

Archer AX10

AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 Router

Now... this could be a better CPU, either it is an upgrade or a downgrade, perhaps TP-Link's own data have shown that the three CPU system is not optimal. TP-Link is known to do this. For better or worse.

This happens with all hardware. Sometimes it is due to sourcing issues; other times, it's due to system optimization, anything really.

The advertisement should be corrected. Perhaps it is still the same system, but they have disabled one CPU core.

They seem to have gone to a dual core CPU in V3. No biggie, but #falseadvertising by Amazon, probably not intentional, just haven't bothered to update the product info. That said, a triple core CPU does look more attractive to a buyer.

The advertising on Amazon is a data pull, either a third-party database or provided by Amazon. I don't know who still does this manually. TP-Link themselves still advertise it as a triple-core system on their own main page.

And, uhm, don't get me started on a VIGI camera return, which was an old version. Not only was the hardware impacted by that one, but let's say the process didn't go all that smoothly.

Well if it was false advertising then surely the retailer has no choice but to suck it up and take the item back and issue a refund.
