I know they say you're syncing but there is no harm in double checking. The first thing you need to check is that the ADSL LED on the modem is on, not flashing. If it's off or flashing it means it's not sync'd.
I assume you know how to connect to the modem but if not, you need to connect a LAN cable from your PC to modem and setup your PC's IP so that the default gateway and DNS is 192.168.1.1 and your local IP address should be 192.168.1.2 or something like that. You can login to configure your modem by browsing to 192.168.1.1. TP-Link usually include a Setup Wizard / Quick Setup option in their modems, find this option on the home screen and select it.
Follow the prompts and ensure you select the following settings:
- Connection Type: PPPoE/PPPoA
- Username: Username provided by telkom e.g.
[email protected]
- Password: Provided by Telkom
- VPI: 8
- VCI: 35
- Connection: LLC or PPPoE LLC
Once complete, it should do a test to see if you're connected to the internet. This should take a few mins, so be patient. Once connected, the Internet LED on the modem will light up. And voila, you're connected to the net
